Directions to Mihingo Lodge Coming from Kampala
Road through Lake Mburo National Park: Less than 1 km after Akageti (16 km after Lyantonde, about 90 km after Masaka and 220 km from Kampala centre) turn left near the blue milk factory towards Nshara Gate, Lake Mburo National Park, the first gate when coming from Kampala. The gate is 9 km from the main road. 5 km after Nshara gate turn sharp left on to Ruroko Track. Follow this track and then follow the signs to Mihingo Lodge. After 6 km you will enter open grasslands in a valley, ahead of you and slightly to the right is Mihingo Lodge situated on top of a rock formation. Continue to follow the signs to Mihingo Lodge (Total 22 km from main road). The total distance from Kampala is 242 km and the drive takes about 4 hours driving time. The highway takeaway next to the Total petrol station in Masaka is a good place for a snack and a short stop.
Road going around the Park: When you reach Akageti (15 km after Lyantonde, 89 km from Masaka, 220 km from Kampala) turn left after going over the last pumps in Akageti on to a dirt road. Follow the road through the Nshara Government ranch for about 15 km up to the first little village called Akashenshero. Drive straight through Akashenshero. 2,5 km after the village there is a Mihingo sign on the right side of the road. Follow the signs to Mihingo on a little dirt track for 3 km. It might be best to download an OpenStreetMap app. You can download the app and the maps beforehand so you do not need an internet connection when using the app.
